A One Day Writing Dive
Date: April 30, 2017
Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: 3043 Mountain View Drive, Laguna Beach
Who we are is a mystery to ourselves as much as to everyone else, and we could say that what we are here for is to unfold the mystery both of our true identity and of the unique story of our own life. Your truest story lies in the deep heart. It is like a secret inherent in the gift of life that you have been given. It is not a task you have to fulfill so much as a lilt on the wind that you are called to pay attention to and to follow as you may. Sometimes we hear it and follow, and sometimes we don’t. Our purpose is bound up in the truth of who we are, and who we are runs like an underground stream through all our days. It leaves its mark on everything we do or say.
This writing day is the day to drop your line down into that stream. This is the day to explore what you may never have fully given voice to; the faint whispers that may arrive in the night, in a moment of silence at the dinner table, alone under the stars or on some hilltop. We shall explore your deeper heart’s desires, the truths you may know but have been afraid to act on, and the courage required to claim them.
You Will Learn To:
Give voice to your life’s deeper purpose and direction
Be clearer about your primary values
Make more of your unknown known by giving it attention
Deepen your relationship to yourself and others by coming closer to the truth of your own experience
Who Should Attend This Workshop:
Non-writers: people interested in using writing to deepen their relationship to self and others.
Writers: occasional writers who want to go deeper into their experience, and practiced writers wanting to use their craft to explore their inner journey
