Drop the Struggle and Trust Your Life

Monday, April  24st – Monday, June 5th, 2017

It’s useful to have plans, intentions, and dreams. But deeper than all of your plans, intentions and dreams – beyond all your hopes and fears – the life you have has its own momentum, intelligence, and timing. Rather than assuming that we create our life, this class assumes that our life unfolds and creates us. Our task is to listen and look for the signs of that unfolding, and to follow it wherever it takes us. Our joy is in trusting the inherent rightness of our life as we know it now.

Trust can be one of the most difficult qualities to sustain in the face of life’s challenges. It requires waking up to the deeper current of your life’s intelligence, beyond all disappointments, betrayals, and events that come and go. That intelligence reveals itself now, in whatever appears in this moment and the opportunity it gives us to allow life to have its way. Using writing prompts and the wisdom of the group, this course will help you to deepen your trust in your own life and in life in its larger picture.

Who Should Attend This Workshop:
Non-writers: people interested in using writing to deepen their relationship to self and others.
Writers: occasional writers who want to go deeper into their experience, and practiced writers wanting to use their craft to explore their inner journey.

How the Class Works:
The course will be taught through an online forum on Roger’s website. Every Monday morning you will receive an email with the week’s assignment, and you will post your written response on the online forum, where every other participant will be able to see it and comment on it if they wish. Roger will comment on everyone’s work each week. You will benefit not only from your work, but through the work of all students, as you will see all of the assignments and Roger’s feedback to everyone (if you would rather submit your assignments to Roger privately, that is ok too). Roger also encourages you to communicate with each other during the class, providing input and support as you see fit. Roger will hold one teleconference during the session: an opportunity for you to ask questions and for us to talk together about the work we are doing. These usually last for up to an hour.

NOTE: For the private online Google group and forum, we will use the email address connected to your PayPal account. If you would like to use a different email address, after you have signed up for the course, please email my assistant, Robert, with the name of the course you have signed up for and the email address you would like to use.
