Monday, April 24th – Monday, June 5th, 2017
This is a wonderful opportunity to see everyday life as the sacred ground in which to live by the promptings of your heart. The heart can give birth to a knowing, a nonreligious faith that allows us to live with uncertainty, change, and ultimately, death – not because we believe that a better place awaits us, but because we intuitively sense that there is an intelligence, an inherent rightness, in the way life presents itself moment by moment. We have faith that life has its own logos beyond all physical appearances—that life is deeper than our minds can ever know, and that we can trust it to take us where we need to go.
Each week you will explore your relationship to one of these themes through writing exercises:
Who Am I? The Stories We Tell Ourselves
Your Heart’s Desire and Calling
Sweet Honey from Failures
When My Life Changed Forever
Fear and Loneliness
Who Should Attend This Workshop: Non-writers: people interested in using writing to deepen their relationship to self and others. Writers: occasional writers who want to go deeper into their experience, and practiced writers wanting to use their craft to explore their inner journey.
How the Class Works:
The course will be taught through Google Groups. Every Monday morning you will receive an email with the week’s assignment, and you will send your written response to our Google Groups Room, where every other participant will be able to see it and comment on it if they wish. I will comment on everyone’s work each week. You will benefit not only from your work, but through the work of all students, as you will see all of the assignments and my feedback to everyone (if you would rather submit your assignments to me privately, that is ok too). I also encourage you to communicate with each other during the class, providing input and support as you see fit. I will hold one teleconference during the session which will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and for us to talk together about the work we are doing. This usually lasts for up to an hour.
NOTE: For the private online Google group and forum, we will use the email address connected to your PayPal account. If you would like to use a different email address, after you have signed up for the course, please email my assistant, Robert, with the name of the course you have signed up for and the email address you would like to use. Robert may be reached at email@example.com
Cost: $307 (Early Bird!) until April 10th, 2017, then $357 after April 10th, 2017
